Capturing Pakistan!

It’s amazing how one picture can say so much. Even when there are no captions or descriptions, you can know a lot from just a single photo, and even more from a series of photos. The way photos and pictures can capture emotions like joy, grief, excitement, shyness, etc., cannot simply be captured with words.

There are many talented photographers in Pakistan who have successfully managed to capture the true beauty and the true essence of Pakistan in their photography. Photography is not just simply putting what’s happening around you in a photo. It’s about the lighting, about the angle, about the situation, about capturing the emotions, about portraying the right message, about successfully putting the beauty, the mood and the right feelings and sometimes it’s just good luck that they get the right photo. That happens rarely though.

It’s amazing how these photographers manage to capture so much in just a few photos. From fashion to poverty and, from weddings to tragic events they have covered all.

Pakistanis are proud of the scenic beauty in not only the northern areas of Pakistan, but all over, and I am too, but that is not the only beauty in Pakistan. There are a lot of other aspects that people tend to overlook. We have the people, the culture, the stories, the traditions, the food and much more.

This is Saeen Zahoor, a famous Pakistani Sufi musician. He has spent all his life singing in Sufi shrines.

This is a delicious Pakistani dish that goes by the name of Chicken Qorma. Made from different spices, this dish has a mouthwatering aroma.

This is a snap from a very simple, yet full of joy and happiness, engagement ceremony. The bride or the Dulhan is showing off her precious wedding ring.

And this on the other hand, is a photo of a glamorous mhendi, where the relatives and friends of the couple are dancing and celebrating the event.

There are many more pictures that I would like all Pakistanis and photography enthusiasts to see. There is always more to beauty than you think.
